Mark Wahlberg and Ted to present at the Oscars

From CBS News:

It's official: this year's Oscars will feature teddy-bear humor.

Mark Wahlberg will present at the Feb. 24 Academy Awards with Ted, the title character of Seth MacFarlane's 2012 hit movie.

"We are happy to make it possible for Mark and Ted to make their debut appearance on the Oscar stage," said Academy Award producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. "And we won't deny that Ted used his pull with our host to get himself the booking."

It's a fitting booking, as MacFarlane -- also the voice of Ted -- will be hosting the Oscars this year.

"I'm excited to present an Oscar with Mark Wahlberg. I'm spending the next month learning to pronounce 'Quvenzhane,'" joked Ted, referring to Quvenzhane Wallis, the Oscar-nominated star of "Beasts of the Southern Wild."

"Ted" -- the highest-grossing R-rated original comedy film of all time -- is expected to have a sequel.

The upcoming Oscars will also feature performances by Barbra Streisand, Norah Jones and Adele.
